A former AutoGP champion in single seaters, Vittorio Ghirelli made his NASCAR Euro Series debut in 2019 and immediately proved to be competitive, scoring two podium finishes in the season opener at Valencia. The Italian grabbed his maiden NASCAR Euro Series win in July at Raceway Venray in what was his oval racing debut.
2020 was the year where Ghirelli blossomed into a star. Five wins, 8 top fives and 9 top tens carried Ghirelli to a sensational OPEN title. He carried his momentum in his V8GP debut in 2021, where he took his maiden V8GP win in the Czech Republic.
A difficult 2022 followed, but Ghirelli bounced back in 2023 and fought for the title all the way to the Finals. The Fasano native then moved to PK Carsport in 2024 and went on a tear: Seven wins and eleven pole positions, including all seven Pole Awards, carried Ghirelli to his first V8GP title.
His star continued to shine in 2025 with a successful title defense, bringing home five wins to confirm his status as the driver to beat. Ghirelli also received the chance to compete in NASCAR Canada Series, excelling in his appearance at Trois-Rivieres.
For 2026, Ghirelli is set for his hardest title defense just yet as he aims to become the first driver to win three consecutive V8GP titles with the #24 Chevrolet Camaro, fielded by the legendary two-time champion Anthony Kumpen.
