A former Formula 1 driver, Michael Bleekemolen made his debut in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series in 2019 driving the #69 Team Bleekemolen Mustang. At 69 years of age, the Dutchman was the oldest rookie in NWES history. Bleekemolen scored 3 top-10s in his first 9 NASCAR races.

After skipping 2020 due to the pandemic. Bleekemolen was back on the grid in 2021. In 2022 he's further improving his record as the oldest driver on the grid and aiming at the Legend Trophy.
