Melvin de Groot made a successful debut in the NASCAR Euro Series in 2021, winning multiple times in the Legend Trophy while subbing for an injured Michael Bleekemolen and won multiple times in the Legend Trophy. He joined the OPEN division full-time in 2022 and successfully clinched the Legend Trophy title.

De Groot retained his Legend Trophy crown in 2023, but lost it to Claudio Cappelli in 2024 after a hard-fought battle that went for the entire season. The Dutchman bounced back in the best way possible in 2025: he not only regained the Legend Trophy title, but also scored his first overall win in tricky conditions at Brands Hatch.

Now established as a title contender, de Groot is making a push for both the Legend Trophy and OPEN overall titles with the #69 Team Bleekemolen Toyota in 2026.
