After making his debut in 2019 at Franciacorta, Claudio Cappelli stepped to full-time NASCAR Euro Series competition in 2022. The Italian with the famous beard contested the Challenger Trophy in V8GP and the Legend Trophy in OPEN, securing his podium finish in OPEN at Zolder.

Cappelli focused his efforts in OPEN in 2023 and fought the Legend Trophy to the end, missing out by tiny margins to Melvin de Groot. He bounced back in 2024 and delivered a standout performance, securing three race victories during the Playoffs at Oschersleben and Zolder. Cappelli concluded the season fifth in the overall standings and clinched the Legend Trophy for drivers aged 45 and over.

Building on his 2024 success, Cappelli took on double duty challenge once again in 2025 by competing in both the V8GP and OPEN divisions. The roofer is passionate for racing and strives to achieve strong results, a goal that he set on his new journey with CAAL Racing in 2026 where he's set to race the #54 Ford in OPEN.
