Alex Caffi is the first former Formula 1 driver to compete in the NASCAR Euro Series. Born in Rovato, Italy, Caffi stepped into the world of pure racing in 2016 when he debuted with Alex Caffi Motorsport in V8GP.

Caffi is a highly capable driver in his own right, but he chose to stay in the background and focus on team management. A new era was brought in 2021 when Alex Caffi Motorsport became Academy / Alex Caffi Motorsport and signed another former Formula 1 driver: Jacques Villeneuve, who delivered the team's first wins in Italy.

Caffi continued to gain success as a team owner, but for 2026 he will suit up and return to the drivers seat in V8GP with the #5 Ford Mustang.
