Ulysse Delsaux started a new journey with Club Competition in the 2026 NASCAR Euro Series V8GP – The French veteran wants to have a say in the battle for the victory
- Ulysse Delsaux enjoyed a positive start to his 2026 V8GP campaign
- The Frenchman turned his fortunes around with Club Competition
- Two top-10 finishes in the first six races established Delsaux’s potential in the #55 machine
Sometimes, you need to find a new environment in order to find your top form. Ulysse Delsaux did just that for 2026: His move to the Italian squad Club Competition allowed the Frenchman to reestablish his position as a contender in V8GP. Some misfortunes have set the 2018 OPEN champion back, but with two top-10 finishes and a top-5 car underneath him, the 28-year old veteran is dreaming of a chance to visit the Victory Lane in the top division of European NASCAR racing.

Adapting to a new team can take a driver a few races to do, but Delsaux was immediately at home when he took control of the #55 Toyota Camry at the season opener in Spain. The inspirational Frenchman took a sensational eighth place, his best finish in more than a year. Delsaux followed it up with another top-10 finish on his first home NASCAR GP in eight years at Paul Ricard and a charge from last to eleventh at Brands Hatch, a perfect demonstration on what the Troyes native is capable behind the wheel of the pure racing machines.
“The first three meetings of the season were perfect in terms of pace,” said Delsaux. “I had beautiful battles with competitors, with the best of the championship. That’s what I remember from this first part of the season, I take the positives.”
Bad luck from mechanical gremlins in Spain and France have left Delsaux trailing his rivals, with him currently sitting with an 89 points deficit to overall leader Vittorio Ghirelli. However, the Frenchman is not giving up just yet. The NASCAR GP Czech Republic at Autodrom Most on 29-30 August presents him with the chance to drop his worst regular season result and with double points on the line at Italy and Belgium, it’ll be the perfect time for Delsaux to start racking up the top-5’s, podiums and even victories.
“My goals are to do better than the top-10, get closer and be in the top-5 and the top-3,” said Delsaux. “I will continue to fight at the front of the peloton and give the maximum to every race. I put everything in place with my entourage, as well as with the team Club Competition to achieve this.”

Summer break will therefore be a busy one for Delsaux, who keeps his fitness in check by taking regular intense training sessions to ensure he’s prepared for the toughest stretch of rounds in the 2026 calendar. Onboard studies and simulator tests with the brand new Euro NASCAR V8GP car on iRacing will also help Delsaux to remain on the path to success.
“The summer holidays take place in order to recharge the batteries, to take into account what I can improve before the return to Most at the end of August,” expressed the fun loving Frenchman. “Despite the holidays, I continue to train, cycling, running, muscle reinforcement, but also on onboard videos as well as my simulator.”
