Yann Schar extends his long-time partnership with RDV Competition for 2026 – The Frenchman aims for a new high in Rookie Challenge with the #3 team

A true veteran of the regularity time attack division of the NASCAR Euro Series is returning to the grid in 2026. Yann Schar, who made his debut all the way back in 2017, is set for a return to the cockpit in Rookie Challenge with RDV Competition, completing the French team’s talented driver line-up.
Schar’s journey to the NASCAR Euro Series is as unique as it is inspiring. The project manager from Divonne-les-Bains in France is a long-time fan of the sport, having always dreamed of becoming part of the NASCAR family since his teenage years. He took his first steps to achieve this dream when he booked a session in the Richard Petty Driving Experience at Las Vegas in 2016, which turned into a life-changing moment.
“The sound of the V8 at full power, the atmosphere, the speed… it was overwhelming,” Schar recalls. “At over 250 km/h, the car felt alive beneath me, dancing through the corners. I didn’t want it to stop – at that moment, I knew this was something I had to pursue.”
Back in Europe, that defining experience pushed him to take the next step, leading him to discover the NASCAR Euro Series and ultimately begin his racing journey.
Schar’s collaboration with RDV Competition dates back to the inaugural Rookie Challenge season in 2017, in which he already showed his potential. With the combination of Franck Violas’ approach to professionalism, technical expertise, and driver training along with the support from Secoreg Sarl and Ofatec SA, Schar is determined to reach a new high by winning the overall classification with the #3 car.
“I’m very happy to continue with RDV Competition for the 2026 season. The team has always provided me with the right conditions to improve and perform. Competing in the Rookie Challenge is an exciting new step, and I’m fully motivated to take on this challenge,” said Yann Schar.
The Schar-RDV pair certainly will be one to watch when the 2026 season starts at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Spain on 18-19 April.
