CAAL Racing has signed Giovanni Cartechini for the 2026 NASCAR Euro Series PRO division – The Italian started his involvement with the team as a sponsor

Sponsors typically support teams and drivers and naturally seek a return on their investment. But sometimes, the path to the track takes an unexpected turn, as is the case for Giovanni Cartechini. The 29-year-old was initially involved with CAAL Racing as a partner with his company HPM and he got a taste of the Pure Racing action in the NASCAR Euro Series. He was hooked, and the Recanati native will now make his NASCAR debut in the 2026 season, piloting the #54 entry in the PRO championship.
Cartechini’s racing journey began just one year ago in the Italian Legends Cars championship. Following a successful season and a rapid learning experience, the Italian is ready to take the biggest step in his career: becoming a NASCAR driver and challenging the elite of European motorsports.
“After starting as a sponsor for CAAL Racing, I truly began to appreciate the world of motorsports as a spectator at the NASCAR Euro Series events,” he said. “Driven by the goal of becoming a NASCAR driver, I challenged myself in the 2025 Legend Cars Italy championship as a training ground. Finishing 12th overall out of 64 entries and first in the Semi-Pro category was a significant milestone. Now, I am finally making a dream come true, becoming a PRO category driver in the NASCAR Euro Series! I want to thank CAAL Racing and the NASCAR Euro Series organization for giving me this incredible opportunity.”
CAAL Racing Team Manager Luca Canneori added: “We are thrilled to announce Giovanni as a driver. This is a wonderful story; our partnership began some years ago as a simple sponsor, but his involvement with our team has been constantly growing season by season. From sponsor to main sponsor, and now a driver. We had a great test on track and are confident that we will achieve great results together.”
CAAL Racing is one of the powerhouses in the history of NASCAR in Europe. The Italian organization has won three PRO titles and boasts 56 race victories across PRO and OPEN. Cartechini joins a perfect environment for his rookie season, which will certainly help him tame a V8 beast without any electronic driving aids. His debut is scheduled for April 18-19 at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain.
