The NASCAR Euro Series is thrilled to announce that Robin Bleekemolen, at just 15 years old, will make her debut in the highly competitive Rookie Challenge at the upcoming NASCAR Euro Series race at Most. Bleekemolen will be the youngest driver ever to take part in this competition, marking a significant milestone in her rapidly growing racing career. In what will be an historic opportunity, three generations of Bleekemolens will be on track in the same event.
Sebastiaan Bleekemolen’s daughter, who has already established herself as a standout talent in karting, will now step into the world of car racing, following in the footsteps of her racing family. Having transitioned from a talented football player to a karting prodigy, her passion for racing was ignited during a trip to Brands Hatch for the NASCAR Euro Series event, and since then, she fell in love with the sport.
Her remarkable karting career saw her land on the podium in her very first race, and she currently holds an impressive 5th place in the Dutch Championship standings in the Parolin ID Engines Senior class. Robin recently passed her racing license exam with flying colors, even being named the best-performing student, despite having limited seat time.
Her Rookie Challenge debut in the NASCAR Euro Series will see Robin Bleekemolen drive the NASCAR car at Most, a new challenge for the young racer as she navigates a new track and a much more powerful car. She is determined to make the most of this opportunity, with the goal of carving out a successful motorsport career, combining both NASCAR and F1 Academy, and potentially exploring the thrilling world of endurance racing.
“As a little girl, I sometimes went with my dad to the racetracks, and I always thought it was amazing,” she said. “But the real racing bug bit me during a trip to Brands Hatch for the NASCAR Euro Series. That’s when I knew I wanted to race, although football was still my main sport at the time. Luckily, my grandfather Michael took me to the kart track and saw that I had potential.”
“Since then, things have moved quickly. I’ve already driven at Circuit Zandvoort in different cars, but I’m really looking forward to driving the NASCAR car at Most. It’s all new for me – the car, the track – but I’m excited! My dream? To make a career in motorsport, combining NASCAR and the F1 Academy. I also love the idea of endurance racing, and it would be amazing to one day race with my dad, my grandpa, and my brother Jeroen.”
Her father, Sebastiaan Bleekemolen, a proud supporter of her journey, shared: “I’ll be honest – I’ve never been a fan of women in motorsport. I believed men should race against men, and women against women. A career in racing is incredibly hard for a girl. But seeing Robin thrive in a male-dominated environment and how much joy she gets out of it has changed my perspective completely. I’m a proud father, and I can’t wait to see her race in NASCAR alongside me. Racing together in the same class, maybe even in NASCAR someday, would be something incredibly special.”
Robin’s remarkable journey has been nothing short of inspiring, and her debut in the Rookie Challenge will surely be one to watch. With a bright future ahead, she is determined to make history in the world of motorsport.
