Thomas Dombrowski merely missed out on his maiden NASCAR Euro Series race win – Two podiums in Italy got him the lead in the Master Trophy
- Thomas Dombrowski scored two podiums at Autodromo di Vallelunga
- The Frenchman almost scored his maiden OPEN race win
- He’s now the leader in the new Master Trophy for aspiring drivers
Thomas Dombrowski crossed the finish line in Sunday’s OPEN race at Autodromo di Vallelunga 0.665 seconds behind the winner. It would have been his first NASCAR Euro Series race win, but Martin Doubek got the victory despite having an issue with his gearbox. Despite narrowly missing Victory Lane, the Frenchman impressed with two podium finishes in Italy, taking over the lead in the new Master Trophy for aspiring drivers in EuroNASCAR’s OPEN division. The PK Carsport driver is second overall, tied in points with Patrick Schober, and just three points behind OPEN championship leader Thomas Krasonis.

Dombrowski ran consistently in the top-3 the whole weekend, proving his development in one of the toughest and most competitive stock car series in the world. The Frenchman is fighting not only for the Master Trophy win, but also for the overall OPEN title. In four races as the teammate of Vittorio Ghirelli, Dombrowski has used the setups of the reigning PRO champion, putting him among the best drivers in the championship designed for aspiring talent and gentleman drivers.
Team Georgia’s Sandro Tavartkildze is second in the Master Trophy and sixth overall. The Georgian sits just nine points behind Dombrowski after scoring two more top-10 finishes at one of the most challenging tracks on the schedule in his rookie season. Another impressive rookie follows in third, just one point behind Tavartkiladze: Bruno Mulders. The Dutchman collected two consecutive podium finishes in Valencia and Vallelunga, but contact with Claudio Cappelli on Sunday in Vallelunga shuffled him down to 14th place. Consequently, the Team Bleekemolen driver missed out on a potential podium finish.

Next in line is Speedhouse’s Florian Richard, who rounds out the overall top 10. Bremotion’s Dominique Schaak is fifth in the Master Trophy standings and 12th overall, while Andres Beers and Valentino Gambarotto are tied for sixth and seventh, respectively. Mario Ercoli and Valerio Marzi round out the Master Trophy standings after the first four races of the 2025 NASCAR Euro Series season.
The 2025 NASCAR Euro Series continues on June 7–8 at the Indy Circuit of Brands Hatch. About 50,000 fans are expected to attend the popular American SpeedFest, which features a fairground, a country festival, and plenty of on-track excitement.
