PK Carsport confirmed PRO champion Vittorio Ghirelli, OPEN sensation Thomas Dombrowski and Rookie Challenge driver Maxim van Laere

PK Carsport is set to take on the 2025 NASCAR Euro Series season with a strong lineup, featuring reigning PRO champion Vittorio Ghirelli in the #24 Chevrolet, alongside Thomas Dombrowski in the OPEN category. The #13 car will see Thomas Krasonis competing in PRO and OPEN, while young talent Maxim van Laere will make his EuroNASCAR debut in the Rookie Challenge.
Ghirelli returns to defend his PRO title with his sights set on back-to-back championships. “I’m so happy to be participating again in the NASCAR Euro Series PRO division as the reigning champion. My goal is to repeat that success and break my own records from the 2024 season. It will be a tough battle as the competition is always strong, but I am preparing for the season with great attention to every detail. My team, my family at PK Carsport, will for sure provide me with a super competitive car to win races.”
Ghirelli is also excited to share the #24 car with Thomas Dombrowski, a rising star in the EuroNASCAR paddock. “I’m also thrilled to see Thomas racing in the OPEN category with our Chevy No. 24. He’s not only a fast driver but also a very close friend. I’m confident he will perform well, and together, we’ll have a very strong #24 Team.”
Dombrowski is ready to take the next step in his third year in OPEN. The Frenchman is equally eager for the season: “Excited to be back in EuroNASCAR for the 2025 season with PK Carsport! This team has a winning mindset, and I’m proud to be part of it. I’ll be sharing car #24 with my friend and reigning champion, Vittorio – one of the best in the game. Racing alongside him is a great opportunity to learn and push myself even further. With his experience and the strength of PK Carsport, we have everything we need to fight at the top. The season is about to start, let’s make it unforgettable!”
The #13 car will feature Krasonis in the PRO and OPEN championships, while van Laere, one of the youngest drivers on the 2025 grid, will compete in the Rookie Challenge – EuroNASCAR’s time-attack regularity division. Coming from a karting background, the now 15-year-old is ready to take on this new challenge: “I’m happy and proud to get the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of my father and be part of this great championship. This year will be a steep learning path coming from karting and being the youngest driver on the grid, but I know I’m well surrounded by one of the top teams in the NASCAR Euro Series, Anthony Kumpen’s PK Carsport.”
His father, Sven van Laere, is proud to see Maxim step up to EuroNASCAR. Sven was forced to retire midway through 2024 due to health reasons, but is now ready to mentor his son into the world of EuroNASCAR: “Of course, it will be a special feeling not being in the driver’s seat myself, but I’m very pleased that my sponsors are now also following Max’s NASCAR adventure, trying to get as high as possible on the amazing NASCAR pyramid created by TEAM FJ and NASCAR.”
