The 2024 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series enters its most important stage of the season following the regular season finale at Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic. After five rounds on some of the best tracks in Europe, the teams will fight for glory in the double points playoffs in Germany and Belgium. Team Bleekemolen experienced a rollercoaster of emotions with ups and downs during the regular season, but the Dutch organization led by Sebastiaan and Michael Bleekemolen lives and breathes the impressive EuroNASCAR spirit that makes the championship’s paddock so unique.

The team runs four cars: #11, #66, #69 and #72. In addition, the Dutchmen take care of 3F Racing’s #30 Chevrolet Camaro during race weekends. It’s hard work, but the team members have a great passion for EuroNASCAR racing and therefore each individual squeezes the best out of himself to maximize results and bring home trophies. Team Bleekemolen impresses with its hospitality and openness to the fans, but of course the team wants to achieve the best possible results, which is why the team worked hard during the summer break to find the pace to get back to the top of the points tables.

In the 2024 season, Sebastiaan Bleekemolen and Melvin de Groot experienced some ups and downs, but the EuroNASCAR points system, which is based on the US NASCAR format, helped the team to get back into the fight with strong results. De Groot stormed into the top-3 in EuroNASCAR 2 at Most and after his worst result after the NASCAR GP Czech Republic, the Dutch giant took the lead in the Legend Trophy. Marc Goossens showed the team’s true potential with two podium finishes in EuroNASCAR PRO at Autodrom Most. This could be just the beginning of a fairytale comeback story.
“The performance was there all weekend,” said Goossens on Sunday after his second consecutive podium finish. “We are missing a few tenths, but we still have some time before the playoffs. It’s a shame that I missed Brands Hatch and that Sebastiaan crashed in Valencia and here. But I think Team Bleekemolen is showing its real potential towards the end of the season. We have to keep digging and find those last tenths of a second before we go to Oschersleben and as you know I’m looking forward to Zolder.”

With double points on the line, all Team Bleekemolen drivers still have a chance to finish the season on a high note. Goossens is sixth overall in EuroNASCAR PRO, just 62 points behind championship leader Vittorio Ghirelli, and could have a say in the fight for the overall top-3. Sebastiaan Bleekemolen is 13th and looking to fight his way back into the top-10. In EuroNASCAR 2, de Groot is the favorite to win his third consecutive Legend Trophy, while his teammate Michael Bleekemolen is also among the class contenders. 75 points behind Martin Doubek, Thomas Dombrowski is sixth in the overall standings and is looking to break into the top-5. Reza Sardeha is looking to climb the learning curve and have a shot at finishing the season in the top-5 of the Rookie Trophy.
The 2024 NWES season continues on September 21-22 at the fabulous Motorsport Arena Oschersleben with four playoff races – two in each division. Qualifying and all races will be streamed live on EuroNASCAR’s YouTube channel. Weekend tickets cost 35 Euros and children 12 and under are admitted free.
