Dominique Schaak is set for the second half of the 2024 NWES season with Bremotion – The German is looking forward to Most, Oschersleben and Zolder

Knowing a track can be the difference between success and failure for a race car driver, and it’s also a key to success in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series. Dominique Schaak is competing in his first full season of EuroNASCAR 2, but all of the tracks in the first half of the season were new to the German racer. With Most, Oschersleben and Zolder coming up next, the Bremotion driver will be racing on tracks he knows from past events. The 33-year-old wants to take the next step and score his first podium in the Rookie Trophy.

“It’s getting better and better,” said Schaak. “The team is doing a great job and I feel really comfortable. It’s only Bremotion’s second season in EuroNASCAR. Of course they are still learning, but they are doing a fantastic job. EuroNASCAR PRO driver Tobias Dauenhauer helps me a lot with his rich experience. He’s a great talent and he’s going to climb his way up for sure.”

“The first race weekend in Valencia wasn’t good for me. I couldn’t race in the first race and was pushed out in the second. I’m 17th overall in EuroNASCAR 2, but if I could have finished in my average position every time, I could have been 13th or 14th.” The race pace is there, but Schaak needs to improve in Qualifying to have a better chance of finishing in the top-10 in his #99 Chevrolet Camaro. Still, he’s happy with his results.

“I think it’s good for my first full season. I missed the podium in the Rookie Trophy for the fourth time now. There are a lot of riders in the class and to be fifth out of 11 rookies is pretty good. My goal is to get one or two rookie podiums in the second half of the season. I know Most, Oschersleben and Zolder, but I didn’t know the tracks from the first half of the season, so I needed more time to get up to speed.”

Schaak sits just six points behind Mario Ercoli in the Rookie Trophy, with 30 points separating him from Victor Neumann in third. The Magdeburg native got married during the summer break and he and his wife are expecting their second child. It was a busy break for the professional racer, as he also took care of his partners who supported him on his EuroNASCAR journey. Now the focus is back on racing and Schaak will do everything he can to have a say in the top-3 battle for the EuroNASCAR 2 Rookie Trophy.
