From single seaters to stock car racing, veteran professional racer Stefano Attianese recently turned his attention to the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series, joining the EuroNASCAR PRO Division for his first full-time campaign in 2023. The polyhedric Italian is racing against the best NASCAR drivers in Europe at the wheel of the #27 Double V Racing Mustang with his mind set on paving his own way to America and NASCAR racing on the other side of the Atlantic.
After making his competitive debut in karting and winning the Lazio regional championship in 1982, Attianese went through some of the most important single seater categories on the national and international scene. In 2000 he joined the ultra competitive International Formula Renault 2000 and he moved to the Formula 3000 Euro Series in the following years before switching to prototype racing.

For ten years, the Italian has competed in prototypes championships in Italy and Europe driving a Wolf car and representing the brand in the US. But Attianese’s passion also encompasses jet ski racing, in which he excelled at international level.
The Rome native made his NASCAR Whelen Euro Series debut in 2020 with Academy Motorsport / Alex Caffi Motorsport in a single event program, moving to Double V Racing in 2022 for another part-time effort. In 2023, Attianese finally made his full-time debut in the NASCAR GP Spain at Valencia’s Circuit Ricardo Tormo, where he put together a solid performance, finishing 24th and 18th in the two EuroNASCAR PRO races. Attianese sits 22nd in points in the top EuroNASCAR championship.

“After competing against drivers such as Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen in the past, this is a whole new adventure for me,” said the eclectic Attianese. “I thank Double V Racing for this great opportunity to enter the 2023 EuroNASCAR championship together. The first event in Spain was quite difficult, but we gained some experience and some important points for the team. I’m adapting to the new car, the team is supporting me and doing a fantastic job. We are sure that we’ll earn way better results soon. My goal is to prepare myself to race in NASCAR in the US, where we already have some good contacts. But for now, let’s stay focused on the next round at Brands Hatch”.
The Italian will now switch his focus to Brands Hatch, the iconic track hosting the hugely popular American SpeedFest. The British track will host the second round of the 2023 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series season and celebrate the 10th anniversary of SpeedFest with a special event. It will be the first time for Attianese on the Indy Circuit at the wheel of a EuroNASCAR car. Qualifying and all races will be broadcast on the EuroNASCAR Youtube Channel, on Motorsport.tv and on a variety of TV services around the globe.
