With one more week until the third round of the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series at Most in the Czech Republic, DF1 Racing is happy to announce that the young luxembourgian driver Gil Linster will return to the EuroNASCAR 2 in the Lettner Trans Chevrolet Camaro #77.
Linster has been racing in the EuroNASCAR before. In 2018 he was fifth in the overall standings of the EuroNASCAR 2 championship.
“It was a really spontaneous decision, but I’m looking forward to racing again in the EuroNASCAR with DF1 Racing. I’m not sure where I’m standing, compared to the other drivers. In the last years, I’ve gained experience on ovals only, the last time I was racing on a road course was in 2018. With Marc Goossens I have a very experienced team-mate, who helps me in any possible way, also with the setup of the car. I hope that this will compensate my lack of experience on road courses”, Linster said. “My goal would be to finish in the Top 10. Obviously, every single position that is closer to winning would make me even more happy. I want to pay back the trust DF1 Racing is putting into me and thank the mechanics with a good result for all the work they are doing.”
DF1 Racing’s Head of Motorsport Norbert Walchhofer is happy to welcome Gil Linster as a DF1 Tiger for the first time and he is convinced that Linster has not forgotten how to race on a road course. “When Gil visited our workshop, there was such an obvious fire in his eyes. When someone is burning for something, such as Gil is with his long-term goals in NASCAR, a team can only be happy to be a part of this journey!”
